In 1993 James Mauler had the understanding of the skills required to coordinate a complete set of drawings using CAD. He recognized a need and set out to fulfill it, and, in 1994, Cadnetics was incorported. Beginning with CAD, he created a process based on solid experience with architects, developers, and contractors. He assembled a team of specialists in CAD, 3D design and other high tech skills.

With over 30 years of combined experience, the firm has provided technical support in a wide range of facility and engineering types including industrial, research and development, advertising, medical, office, senior care, hospitality, retail, municipal, urban, and residential development.

Representative projects include PNC Park, American Eagle Outfitters, Giant Eagle Supermarkets, Aeropostale Stores, and the Alcoa Corporate Headquarters.

James Mauler


Jim has been working with CAD since 1985, and has expertise in every aspect of this field. Jim�s experience prior to founding Cadnetics with Terry Arrington in 1993 includes: preparation of architectural and construction documents; coordination of consultant information and integration into the architectural package; research and recommendations for CAD system hardware and software, with responsibility for technical purchasing; management of several CAD departments, including production supervision, network integration, budgeting and training; and, as an independent CAD consultant, services including production, training, programming, system hardware/software customization and system design recommendations.

As President of Cadnetics, Jim manages the daily operations of the firm, including all executive duties, as well as all CAD production for Cadnetics� clients. In addition, Jim also conducts ongoing research and development of CAD software, hardware and emerging technologies not only for use within the firm, but to provide current data for consultation purposes.

Jim is a Professional Member of the Institute of Store Planners; a Founding Member of the Community College of Allegheny County North Campus Multimedia Communications Advisory Committee; a member of the Parkway West Area Technical School Committee Board of Advisors of Drafting and Design Development; instructor at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh; and has been a member of the Greater Pittsburgh AutoCAD Users Group since 1986.

Thomas Vilushis
Director, 3D Services


Tom Vilushis has been producing 3D animation and multimedia content since 1995. He holds degrees in Multimedia Communications as well as Business Administration. At Cadnetics, he oversees a team of CAD modelers and 3D animators, and manages all 3D projects. He also provides technical and creative direction for staff and clientele.

Tom has taught beginners and intermediate level animation courses at the Community College of Allegheny County. His work in the field of architectural visualization has received critical acclaim and has won various international awards. He wrote, directed, and produced a short animated video, 2001: a Pittsburgh Odyssey, which was presented during the 2001 FirstNight Pittsburgh celebration.

Billie Pordash
Director, Administration/Marketing


Billie came to Cadnetics with over 10 years experience in the Human Resource field, as well as a unique design and development expertise. She has a BA in Marketing with minor in Graphic Design from Waynesburg University.

Billie's responsibilities include managing the day-to-day company operations, encompassing the accounting, advertising, marketing, and human resources functions. She brings a unique and knowledgeable perspective to Cadnetics with an academic and professional background in human resources and marketing.
